A few weeks ago I dug two holes in the backyard to plant a kumquat tree and a navel orange tree. I dug the holes 3 feet deep as instructed. I enjoyed the digging. In one of the holes I found a coin. It was a coin commemorating the grand opening of a store. The coin was dated 1905. I will give you the details of the coin in a later post.
I got charged up about finding that coin. I started thinking that there might be more objects like that buried beneath the surface of my backyard. So, here I am digging a hole. In this picture it's about 4 feet deep. I haven't found anything interesting so far. I'll keep digging.

Hum, I don't know that I've ever felt the urge to dig a hole without a woman telling me that I had to.
Like the new pic, though. Cool hat!
Ha! This made me laugh out loud! I haven't dug a hole for the hell of it since high school. Now I watch my little kids dig holes for no reasons and carry buckets of water just to dump it in the hole. There should be some zine dedicated to digging holes. Keep us posted, Jack!
